What does Beirut Digital District’s 15-year plan look like? [Wamda TV]
Hosting a good number of VCs, accelerators, incubators and startups, Beirut Digital District (BDD), which was launched in 2012, has rapidly grown into a hub for startups in Lebanon.
Just five year following its debut, BDD is now home to 1,300 community members and that number is expected to almost double by 2020, according to managing director Mouhamad Rabah.
The hub’s 15-year plan aims at accommodating more startups and keeping on conducting workshops, hackathons, trainings, and events that boost the ecosystem.
Rabah chatted with Wamda about the new year’s plans, how the BDD is tapping into the college students’ segment, and what changes are anticipated in the Lebanese ecosystem within the next 15 years.
