GITEX and Wamda partner to promote collaborative entrepreneurship in MENA
GITEX Future Stars has selected Wamda, the leading platform for entrepreneurs in the Middle East and North Africa, as its knowledge partner to trigger and facilitate collaboration between startups and large institutions.
This partnership builds on GITEX Future Stars’ existing efforts to consolidate the startup ecosystem in the MENA region by giving it access to international best practices and exposure to a global investment and business network.
“GITEX Future Stars is the region's most influential fundraising and business development networking event for startups and the innovation-enabling community. It connects impassioned tech entrepreneurs from the Middle East and Africa with the most inquisitive peer founders from the rest of the world, inspiring business mentors, astute global investors and many of the region's largest corporate buyers. The event presents a lifetime opportunity for these startups to strengthen their foundation and reinforce development through the valuable connections, learnings and guidance they shall benefit from a global fraternity specially brought to Dubai to accelerate their growth. We are delighted to announce Wamda, a leading platform for entrepreneurs in the MENA region, as the Knowledge Partner for GITEX Future Stars and look forward to curating a robust programme of events and opportunities that will result in game-changing partnerships for attendees.” said Trixie Loh Mirmand, Senior Vice President, Events Management, Dubai World Trade Centre.
Walid Faza, COO of Wamda added: “We are very happy to partner with GITEX Future Stars, one of the largest startup events organized in the region. In fact, we both share the conviction that corporations and startups have a strong interest to work together. Nonetheless, the needed mechanisms to build successful partnerships are still missing. That is why Wamda will be setting up a series of activities at GITEX Future Stars to create networking opportunities between both parties and provide them with the needed knowledge to navigate their way through their collaborative entrepreneurship journey.”
GITEX Future Stars is happening on October 8-12, 2017 at the Dubai World Trade Center (DWTC). The event will gather over four hundred startups and offer them a platform to showcase their businesses, meet peers, attend inspirational talks and workshops, find mentors, attract investors and network with tech giants participating in its sister event, GITEX Technology Week.
