Innovate Education
Innovate Education is a 3-day social entrepreneurship competition. In this competition, Lebanese and Syrian university students will build solutions to make access to education easier.
The event will take place at the Beirut Digital District, Building 1079 on April 6 - 8.
Participants will have 4 challenges to choose from:
• Vocational training: How can technology be used to improve Syrian teenagers' skillsets?
• Transportation: How can technology be helpful to improve transportation to get to school?
• Quality of Education: How can technology be used to support Syrian teenagers' learning process?
• Wild Card challenge: You address your own challenge that you think is a priority and would truly solve a problem.
Applicants must come up with an idea to work on with the aid of mentors, who will assist them in developing and implementing it. The project/idea will be pitched to a panel of judges.
There will be two winning teams who will get futher support either through the ‘Track Boost’ or ‘Track Challenge’:
The ‘Track Boost’ consists of two phases: first, 3 months of coaching and mentorship in a coworking space, followed by a chance to participate in Smart ESA’s Advanced Program for Entrepreneurship, which starts in September 2017.
The ‘Track Challenge’ also consists of two phases: first, 2 coaching sessions and 1 month of access to a coworking space among Berytech’s community, followed by a chance to apply to Berytech’s Global Social Venture Competition (deadline is November 2017).
