The world of entrepreneurship news is a complex one, with people ever ready to give their two cents on how you should be running your business/VC fund/incubator.

Here’s what we’ve been reading on how well Saudi is doing in moving away from a reliance on oil, how President Trump’s travel ban affects Iraqi youth, the danger of taking your devices to the office, and some helpful tips from the actor Ashton Kutcher.

The UAE, then Mars. So Elon Musk, cofounder and CEO of Tesla is going to be in Dubai next week to officially launch the electric-powered car in the country. This is great news for anyone enthusiastic about getting electric vehicles on the incredibly congested roads of the UAE. And here’s where to look for jobs with them.

Thick wallets aren’t always a good sign. Business school INSEAD and an early stage VC for Southeast Asian startups, Golden Gate Ventures, have put together a report outlining some of the reasons why success eludes so many founders. Wamda of the week: Trump travel ban and Iraq entrepreneurs. You stop people from moving around, you stop them from progressing. The whirlwind of focus around the executive order from President Trump last week has not just an effect on those seeking refuge, but also those seeking to better improve their home countries. Wamda spoke to Nawres Arif, founder of the Basra makerspace Science Camp, about how the ban will impact the work of his young camp members.

Steve Jobs has some tips for you. Well, actually it’s the actor Ashton Kutcher, who once played Steve Jobs, but we wanted to get your attention. Despite a fruitful acting career he’s also a successful investor, entrepreneur AND philanthropist. This writer has nicely put together six pieces of advice from the guy, which will save you having to do all the research she clearly did. Thanks.
