Careem's 4 big things for 2016 [Wamda TV]
2015 was certainly a great year for Careem and they say localization was the key.
They acquired Saudi-based home delivery Enwani, Taxiii in Morocco, and raised a $60 million Series C round, and are now present in all of the GCC countries as well as North Africa, amongst others.
During Wamda’s last Mix N’ Mentor Dubai, we met Careem CEO Mudassir Sheikha, to ask him about their “great 2015” and future plans.
In this video, Sheikha said they were growing fast by adopting a local-learning approach. They also allow their users to pay with cash, book via a call center and make bookings in advance.
For 2016, the CEO revealed that they had four big things they would focus on: existing markets, launching in new markets in MENA, experimenting with new products and services, and building an “awesome organization”.
