Morocco’s Crealo raises $1.42 million Seed round
- Morocco-based copyright-management platform Crealo, has raised $1.42 million in Seed funding from the 212Founders programme operating under CDG Invest, Kima Ventures, Evolem, Super Capital, and angel investors.
- Founded in 2021 by Mohammed Belghiti and Najlae Zeitouni, Crealo helps cultural and creative institutions manage copyrighted material through an online platform, which counts Palais de Tokyo, Beaux Arts Magazine, and other institutions as its users.

In a significant move for the startup ecosystem, the 212Founders programme, operating under CDG Invest, the investment arm of the CDG Group, has made a strategic investment in Crealo, a burgeoning startup specialising in the management and payment of copyright royalties. This investment is part of Crealo’s first seed funding round, which also saw participation from notable entities such as Kima Ventures, Evolem, Super Capital, and a select group of business angels. The funding round amassed a total of 14.1 million dirhams, with CDG Invest injecting a substantial 4.9 million dirhams into the venture.
This infusion of capital marks a pivotal moment for Crealo, enabling it to solidify its position as a leading solution in the realm of copyright management. The funds will be instrumental in enhancing the quality of Crealo’s product, fostering new partnerships, and expanding its workforce, thereby accelerating its growth trajectory.
The 212Founders programme has been at the forefront of promoting entrepreneurship and advancing economic sophistication in Morocco. Since its inception in 2019, the programme has successfully executed 18 financings in both Seed and Series A stages, cumulatively reaching an impressive 97 million dirhams.
Crealo, established in 2021, stands out as the first European solution dedicated to addressing copyright issues comprehensively across various sectors of the cultural and creative industries. The startup boasts a diverse and prestigious client base, including Palais de Tokyo, L’Équipe, Beaux-Arts Magazine, and the Muséum national d’histoire naturelle, among others. Its platform is tailored to cater to organisations of varying sizes, offering a sophisticated and user-friendly system that streamlines and automates the entire process of copyright royalty management in France.
Crealo’s innovative approach allows publishing houses to calculate and disburse royalties with unprecedented ease and efficiency. The platform has already enabled several clients to transition from annual to semi-annual or quarterly royalty settlements, reflecting its effectiveness and the added convenience it provides.
