Mix N’ Mentor is finally heading to Kuwait this October 22nd (register here). This Nuwait edition of Wamda’s signature event is brought to you by the Kuwaiti National Fund (KNF) for Small and Medium Enterprise development, and will gather a slew of entrepreneurs at the Al Shaheed Park in Kuwait City for a full day of discussions and mentorship.

Though small geographically, Kuwait is very big on Instagram usage, as reported on Qz, a rising class of Instagram entrepreneurs are selling various products such as comics, makeup and others. Additionally, earlier this year, Forbes described Kuwait as the next “Silicon Gulf” in an article on how the country is moving beyond oil to nurture entrepreneurs.

After visiting many cities from the region including Riyadh, Bahrain, Casablanca, Amman, Cairo, Dubai, and Beirut during the past 2 years, Mix N’ Mentor is organised for the first time in Kuwait.

The course of the day includes roundtable discussions in the morning, where mentors and entrepreneurs discuss topics ranging from fundraising and business development to team building and user acquisition. In parallel, one-on-one sessions are organised between mentors and entrepreneurs.

In the afternoon, design thinking workshops led by Facebook and other experts, will give the entrepreneurs a deep dive into user acquisition trends, pitching to the media and term sheets.

Mentors participating include Khaled Al Sultan, co-founder of media company Ghalia,  Abdur-Rahman El-Sayed, co-founder of Waveline Media, Said Almohri from Kuwait’s Technology Task Force Team, Dr. Naif al Mutawa, and many more from the region.

Some of the most prominent VCs regionally will also be participating such as Arzan Capital, BECO Capital, 500Startups and Wamda Capital. They will interact with local entrepreneurs by sitting on sessions and during one-on-one meetings.

With Sirdab Lab, YourAOK and Nuqat as community partners of this event brought to you by the Kuwait National Fund, Wamda is working to make sure that this day is as efficient and educational to the vibrant Kuwaiti ecosystem.

Though still in its early stages, Kuwait’s ecosystem still managed to build the largest MENA tech acquisition, when Rocket Internet acquired Talabat for $170 million.
