In the bus on the way back from our first Mix n Mentor event in Amman, we chatted with Dave McClure of Silicon Valley-based accelerator and seed investment vehicle 500 Startups about his perspective on startups in the Middle East. Here, after attending our event and chatting with Jordanian startups all day, along with the rest of the Geeks on a Plane delegation, he reflect on what stood out at the event, the kinds of startups he generally invests in, the major opportunities he sees in the tech space globally, and what advice he would give someone starting up in the Middle East today.
