What's Happening at Global Entrepreneurship Week Lebanon
Last night, Global Entrepreneurship Week kicked off in Lebanon with a lively opening ceremony celebrating the theme “Lebanon is an excellent place to start a business.” At the event at the Olayan School of Business at AUB, entrepreneurship support organizations and investment vehicles pitched to the crowd for 60 seconds each, each explaining how they work to help entrepreneurs.

In the end, the MIT Enterprise Forum won the competition, taking home the prize of… well… the satisfaction of supporting entrepreneurs. In second place was Beirut Arab University, with Bader Lebanon coming in third.

Both weeks: Seeqnce, along with Cedrus Ventures, is launching the Execution, a startup competition to see who can execute an idea best in two weeks.
Wednesday Nov 16: Berytech is hosting an Entrepreneurs Forum from 3pm to 9pm, which will include Bader’s Entrepreneurs Clinic and Mowgli and Cisco’s Entrepreneurs Jam.
Thursday Nov 17th: AUB will host an Entrepreneurship Fair Day from 10am-6pm, during which the MIT Enterprise Forum will host a presentation roadshow.
Thursday night, MEVP will host a gathering from 7pm-9pm to help entrepreneurs network with investors.
Friday Nov 18th: the Entrepreneurship Fair Day will continue, and Berytech will kick off a series of workshops called “From Startup to Success” that will go from 9am to 5pm, while Mowgli will kick off a weekend mentorship intensive, beginning with their event “The Entrepreneur’s Journey and the Power of Mentorship.”
Monday, Nov 21st: Cisco Entrepreneur Institute will host an “Active, Innovate, Inspire” workshop to help entrepreneurs develop the right mindset.
Wednesday, Nov 23rd: MITEF will continue its presentation roadshow at LAU-Byblos, at 12pm and 4pm. At night, the founders of the Democratic Republic of Music in Hamra will host their journey “Founding DRM.”
Thursday, November 24th: FSVC is hosting “A Morning with the Southern Entrepreneur” in Saida, a lunchtime talk with two leading entrepreneurs from the south of Lebanon, who will discuss the differences between the southern entrepreneurial ecosystem and other parts of the country.
Also on Thursday, Arabnet will host “Digital Opportunities,” a presentation on different sectors in the digital market, followed by a FounderMatch session, where 12 developers and 12 marketers will “speed date” to find a co-founder.
